Your First Visit

At your first visit to Solon Orthodontics, you will meet our helpful team and get a tour of the office. Dr. Bomeli will then meet with you to discuss your treatment desires. He will also perform a complimentary clinical examination in order to learn more about you, your teeth, and your facial structures.

We will take digital photographs of your teeth and face and then Dr. Bomeli will discuss a preliminary treatment plan with you. Your first visit should last approximately 45 minutes. To make your first appointment run even more smoothly, please download, print, and fill out a patient information form and medical/dental history form, which we have available on this website for your convenience (please see the link at the top of this page). Then, please bring your completed form with you to your first visit. Also, let us know about any dental insurance you might have so that we may assist you in determining your benefits.

Prior to starting orthodontic treatment, we will need to obtain a complete set of diagnostic records, which typically includes a medical/dental history, clinical examination, plaster study models of the teeth, digital photographs of the patient's face and teeth, and digital x-ray images (panoramic x-ray and lateral cephalometric x-ray). Please see the Orthodontic Dictionary page on our website for more information regarding the types of x-ray images we use. The information collected for diagnostic records is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records also serve to help track your treatment progress as your teeth move throughout your orthodontic treatment.

In many cases, diagnostic records can be completed the same day as your initial clinical examination. That means you can get your braces put on the next time you visit our office! It takes approximately 30 minutes to obtain the necessary diagnostic records listed above.
